The Kiwanis Club of El Segundo supports local events, non-profit organizations, school groups, sports teams, sponsor scout troops, and scholarships that help El Segundo's youth. We dedicate ourselves to making the best possible future for the children of El Segundo.
Our all-volunteer membership carries on the traditions of Kiwanis since this club's formation in 1927. Kiwanis is a big part of this community, and members want to give back, support, and dig in to help make El Segundo great for the children. We also have fun being a very social club open to all who want to join.
The club is a member of the El Segundo Chamber of Commerce. We host The Fair on Richmond, El Segundo Cup Golf Tournament, N.R.G.'s Clean the Beach, support the Fourth of July Community Celebration, the Halloween Frolic, Santa's Sleigh, the Community Holiday Dinner, DARE, C.A.S.E., Children's Hospital Los Angeles Auxiliary, Friends of the Library, the El Segundo Education Foundation and the P.T.A. Council's Run for Education.
The club sponsors and provides advisors for the El Segundo High School and Da Vinci High School Key Clubs and the El Segundo Middle School Builders Club.
Youth organizations may request funding from the Kiwanis Club of El Segundo. Requests should be submitted by the first Thursday of the month and will be reviewed at our board meeting which is held on the second Thursday of the month. The contact will be notified of the board's decision.
We are passionate about making a difference. Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do. But how we do it is just as important. We believe our neighborhoods and our world are best served when people of all ages and different backgrounds work together to share their time and talents.
El Segundo Schools use an Ipad teaching tool called Peardeck. Kiwanis underwrites this cost since hundreds of students use it daily.
Kiwanis sponsors multiple Scout Troops and supports individual Eagle Scout Projects. Check out this one that is seen every day.
Center Street Elementary School needed to redesign its learning garden, and Kiwanis was there to help. Due to Covid, this is a work in progress but check this out.
